Meet the scholars

Thai scholarship has allowed me to support myself entirely and pay for my living expenses. I have been fortunate enough to pursue a career in education and this scholarship will help me be able to continue to do so! Thank you!

Being the first generation of my family to attend college, I have a mission to set a precedent for my children and their future; being able to attain this scholarship has not only allowed me to excel in my education but has motivated me to reach farther and higher than I once did before.

This scholarship is helping me get to where I want to be, so that I can impact the children that looks like me.

This scholarship has allowed me to stay on campus, therefore allowing me to get a job which has allowed me to gain many workplace skills! I am majoring in Elementary Education and can not wait to be able to shape the small minds of tomorrow and learn all I can from them!

Winning this scholarship has been very important to me because it has made it much easier for me to have financial support. I am very grateful for this opportunity that I received from the foundation to continue achieving my dreams.

This scholarship has helped me out in a huge was. I did not have enough money for my classes let along the textbooks. When I was granted the scholarship I was happy as happy can be. I really cried tears of joy. I am greatly appreciative of this scholarship. I never thought that I would be one to receive such generosity as a scholarship.

The scholarship granted to me has impacted my education due to that it helped me out with buying all the books I needed, saving it for future use in another semester and buying the necessities I needed for the semester.

This scholarship helped me proceed with schooling although we were in a pandemic. I was off of work for sometime and was very worried on how I was going to continue on school. Scholarships help out a lot and most students fail to realize. I am beyond grateful and blessed that I can have an opportunity to receive such scholar.

The Helios First Generation Scholarship has heavily impacted my education. It has made College so much more affordable. Because of this scholarship I am able to continue my degree in Computer Science. I am planning on becoming a Software Engineer after college and I will have this scholarship to thank for helping me along the way.

This scholarship has been a blessing. Because of this scholarship I did not have to take a break from school and was able to stay on track for graduation. I will be graduating next semester and will be teaching next school year. I have already received a job offer from a local middle school! It has always been my dream to teach and I am very excited to finally start!

This scholarship has no only help me continue pursing my career, but as well as purchase my book. Due to covid 19, i have been unable to work since March 10th of this year. It has been hard to get by, but with this scholarship money i have been able to keep studying which is very important to me. I am determined to graduate and am beyond thankful for this big help.

The scholarship impacted my education extremely. It helped me get through college and pay for my classes and tuition without having to pay out of pocket and or worry about any financials. Working full time and going to school full time was hard but I am now the first in my family to graduate with a college degree and graduated with honors.

I am hoping to become a teacher, to inspire tomorrows learners and future leaders. My daughters generation has taught me that they no longer value learning. I would like to help change that.

It has been said that the act of giving is one of life's greatest gifts. It was the spirit of giving that I saw that inspired me to go back to school to take on pre-nursing studies. Without the scholarship from Helios, I would not have been able to do so. Thank you Helios for granting me a scholarship and helping make this dream a reality!

The Helios first generation scholarship took the strain and stress of debt off my shoulders. I have been employed since I was 17 years old, and now I am 24. The scholarship made me not have to stress so much about school and work. As a first generation scholar, I always had complications with budgeting. My dream job is to build a community college in Quincy, Florida.

Thanks to this scholarship k was able to finish my prerequisites for nursing and now I’m just waiting to get into the program to start my dream career. Thank you so much for such a huge help.

This scholarship has impacted my education tremendously, I did not have the money for school because my financial aide ran out and I can not afford to go to school without it.I am a mother of two daughters, one with down syndrome. It is hard for me to maintain my school work with a lot of stress but, this scholarship helped lessen the stress with the funds to pay for my classes

This scholarship made it possible for me to continue my education towards my degree in Early Childhood Development and Education. My ambition is to one day work with children again. They are our future, and the backbone of this country, and if we don't support they're early development in a positive, quality way, we as a country will lose out on our greatest resource.

Because of Helios Education Foundation scholarship, I am able to act as an example to my teenage sons. They can see that hard work and dedication can be rewarded, even by the kindness of strangers. Thank you so much for your aid!

For as long I can remember I always wanted to pick a job that I can make enough money that I can take over my mom bills so she can live the life she wanted. This scholarship inspired me to do better and to show my family it is ok to go to school and get a good education. Thank you again Helios Scholarship for inspiring me keep pushing.

Te Helios First Generation Scholarship has impacted my life tremendously. Because I am a single mother of four it has first taken the financial burden of paying for classes off me since I would have been covering the cost of school myself. With that most important part of receiving this scholarship out of the way I am able to focus solely on my education and my family.

This scholarship was a major help in my journey in becoming a teacher. It has alleviated my financial burdens tremendously. I chose to become an Elementary Teacher because I’m truly passionate about helping our children to become the versions of themselves. Once again thank you.

It has helped in so many ways! I was able to focus on school and my career goals! I got the opportunity to observe more classrooms and volunteer in Elementary schools. After graduation I plan on teaching K-2!

With this scholarship, I have come closer to my long time goal of achieving an Associate’s degree. Finances and the large expense of college have hindered me from reaching these goals and thankful with this scholarship, I was able to enroll into school and continue my journey.
