Meet the scholars

I would like to thank you for this wonderful blessing of this honored scholarship. This has been a long time dream of mine, now 63 years old. I am presently teaching two children in their home because of Covid. In May, I will be working for Early Steps in Pasco County. This is a service that support young children and their families. I was so honored when I was chosen to receive the scholarship from Helios Education Foundation. Receiving the scholarship meant that I could focus on my education by being able to pay for my tuition and my books without having to make unnecessary financial sacrifices. I will continue to work hard and I hope to graduate in the Spring of 2022.

This scholarship really helped me succeed while pursuing a higher education. I am single mom of 3 children and I wanted to show them that it’s never too late to go after tour dreams. This scholarship helped pay for a sitter so I could attend school at night, pay for my books and course materials. Thank you for helping people like me who need a little more support.

This scholarship has helped me tremendously this past semester. I was able to purchase all the books and equipment needed for my nursing classes. I plan on furthering my education this next year. I am very grateful for the help that this scholarship has provided.

It has help me with family issues during the COVID 19 because I usually save those scholarships money and use it when in difficult time, so it has really been helpful.

This scholarship has given me the opportunity to continue my education in becoming a music educator. Without the stress of the financial burden put onto college students. I am able to put my studies and training in my main focus rather than how will I pay my rent or other bills. I hope to become a middle school band director after graduation.

This scholarship was a blessing in disguise! I was unsure of how I would be able to pay for my last two semesters at SPC. I enrolled on faith and applied for the scholarships before the deadline. When I was awarded the scholarship I was very thankful and told my daughters immediately that mommy will be able to graduate.

This scholarship has impacted not only my education but my community service in such a positive way! Receiving this scholarship has enabled me to cut down on my work time allowing me to not only focus on my studies, but also allowing me to strive as the Student Nurses' Association Vice President.

This scholarship has allowed me some financial flexibility in paying for the access codes to my books, stable internet connection, and even a printer that are all very important in my success as a fully online student. I am currently changing my major to exercise physiology to pursue my dreams of being a pediatric physical therapist.

This scholarship well help me achieve on what I want to study and become for my career! Ever since when I was a little girl my goal was to become a doctor and help people get better and stronger. Im a 23 year old girl with first New born! Still pushing through to get my degree!

If I could summarize how this scholarship impacted my education in two words, I would say "financial security." The money from this scholarship has helped ease the financial burden I face as a low-income college student. By having financial security, not only is my education more secure. My career ambition is more likely to be fulfilled because I have a higher education.

After receiving this scholarship, the constant pressure of figuring out where to get money to continue my education stopped. I was then able to redirect my attention towards my academics and finished my first school year with a 3.5 GPA. This high GPA gained me admissions in to many opportunities, one being my schools honor society!

This scholarship has impacted my education because It has given me the opportunity to keep continuing my education and take opportunities to better my education to become a teacher as well so I better my education which will help benefit my future students and I.

The Helios First Generation Scholarship has had a huge impact on my life. I am first generation in college. Now I have the opportunity to work with high school students and teach them. This scholarship is helping me to further my education to become a state certified teacher. I am very humbled to have received this scholarship.

This scholarship has made a huge impact on my education, if not for Helios I would not have been able to afford classes this semester. That would have further delayed my dreams of becoming a doctor.Once I become a doctor I will make an impact on as many lives as possible and my voice will he heard on how some things in medicine need to change!

The Helios Foundation has allowed me to attend college without financial worry or regret. I am so grateful to be a recipient of such an amazing foundation and scholarship! The Helios Grant has helped me be resilient.

The scholarship has impacted my education by allowing me to have continued education and build upon my goals of completing my educational plan in becoming an Early Intervention Specialist. The Helios Scholarship has given me the opportunity to continue with my goals to make my passion of being and educational advocate come true.

First of all I want to say thank you for this scholarship. My career goal is to become a registered nurse. I currently work as a medical assistant and my goal each day is to provide optimal care to my patients and make sure they leave with a smile. aspire to be a nurse so that I can give more and be more for my patients.

This scholarship has allowed me to cover things I would have not been able to if I had not received the funds. As a single mom, times can be tough and I quit my PT job to focus on my FT school schedule. I am thankful for the blessing this has brought. I am currently an insurance agent, however, would be interested in administration of a nursing home.

Being a recipient of this First Generational Scholarship has not only helped me attend college without incurring any debt, but it has also helped me change my family tree.

The scholarship has impacted my life tremendously, because of the Helios scholarship I was able to purchase books and other essentials needed to complete my coursework. I am very grateful that I am a recipient because the funding has provided me with the opportunity to fulfill my dreams to achieve my bachelors degree.

As a recipient of the Helios Education Foundation First-Generation Scholarship, I am able to continue my independent research and studies without holding significant debt. Moreover, this scholarship has helped me gain the necessary resources to achieve my undergraduate degree, and continue my academic journey in a doctorate program for social psychology.

The scholarship has aided me in continuing my education in Computer Science. I have always had a passion for being creative and with my degree, I hope to do that by working in the game industry by designing new, fun, and exciting games.

The scholarship has greatly reduced my financial burden, and it has helped me continue pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences.
